Remote Thief

Yesterday, my remote went missing. I know, we've all been there, hunting everywhere, muttering under your breath, asking the fae to just please return it, you promise you'll leave them out something shiny in return. Exasperated, I stepped outside for a breath. Well, I found the remote.

Amy, Jessica, or Nene?

Who is your favorite faery artist? Amy, Jessica, Nene, Brian, Wendy... someone else? I love all of them for different reasons. I adore Amy's tattoos, she does them precisely like I would like ot have some done on me. Brian and Wendy do nature fae sooo much better than anyone else. I love the way they could walk right off the page.

I just picked up another of Amy's books today, and I love it! I need a bigger bookshelf. Support your local faerie artists please, if they have to take up a second job, they have less time to create for all of us. :)

Fairie-ality

So about three or four months ago I purchased this book, "Fairie-ality: The Fashion Collection from the House of Ellwand". And I have to say it's total eye-candy. Not a lot of creative writing, but they certainly had a lot of fun with glue and flower petals. At least it wasn't just another "fairy book" that puts flowers on something and calls it fae. They genuinely put effort into their creations, and several of them are really creative. There are some "extras" in the book that drive up the price which is why it's costly, it was no doubt very spendy to produce. It has things like vellum envelopes with little cards inside and so on.

I bought it for fairy garb ideas, and it won't do a lot for that since everything is fashioned from flower petals and feathers and such (and a little bit on the pink and delicate side for me to personally wear), but still, it's worth it for the eye candy and for those of us who love the fae, it sure beats other options in the way of a coffee table book.

Just One?

I have a question. How in the world am I supposed to pick just one mythical creature to be my favourite? I mean come on, there are so many different ones. There are dragons, thistle faeries, nymphs, elves, gnomes, water fairies, pooka, centaurs, and the list goes on and on. And all of them are so neat. Imps for example are mischievous little critters who go around making trouble. Pookah, are half animal, half faery, and they can turn into that animal....

There are just so many cool mythical creatures and I can't seem to figure out which one could possibly be my favourite. So I just keep thinking about it and someday maybe I can decide on one.

We're migrating our blog over here, so we're basically starting over. We'll work hard to make sure we bring you some great new things though. This seems like an auspicious day to launch the new blog. Thanks for sticking with us during the migration!

Peace and magic,
